Rabat flight FAQs

Flights from London to Rabat take around three hours and 15 minutes.

Rabat is an excellent destination to visit all year round. The hot summer sun means prices can be higher in summer, so visit during winter when flights are slightly cheaper and the mild temperatures are ideal for exploring and sightseeing.

City breaks to Rabat are generally more affordable compared to other popular destinations across Europe or North Africa. You’ll find fewer international chains and more locally owned bars, restaurants and hotels, plus a wealth of markets and independent boutiques, so your dirhams are likely to go far.

The wealthy Hay Riad neighbourhood is home to luxurious fine dining if you’re pushing your budget, while the Medina is your best bet for great-value street food and traditional Moroccan meals.

Public transport is an affordable way of getting around, although with culture and historic sights at every turn, you may wish to soak it all in on foot.

From Rabat-Sale Airport, you can reach your hotel in Rabat’s city centre by private transfer, taxi or bus. The shuttle bus from the airport takes around 40 minutes and runs once an hour, dropping you off at the main train station. You may find it quicker to take a taxi if you don’t fancy waiting.

You can explore Rabat easily on foot or using public transport. There are regular tramway and bus services to take you across the city, or flag down one of the many blue metered taxis that operate around Rabat – just remember cash.

You can also hire a car with British Airways if you want to see explore more of Rabat and Morocco. You’ll receive great benefits, with all mandatory charges included and 24-hour customer support, plus you’ll collect Avios points on every rental.

With exciting food, art and cultural scenes to discover – and a prime spot on the Atlantic coast – Rabat ticks all the boxes for a city break with a side of blissful beach life. Often overlooked for Morocco’s big-name destinations, you’ll find Rabat has a calmer pace that makes for a more relaxed experience.

In between meals offering up rich tagine, brochette and sweet almond pastries, fit in some gallery hopping, beach hopping and sightseeing. You’re spoilt for choice.
